About Aleks

I’m happy to meet you here!

I am Aleksandra Filipovic, a medical doctor and oncologist, a PhD scientist in cancer and immune system biology, and a facilitator for developing novel treatments for cancer.

Who I truly am is a soul having a human experience. I am here to live my purpose and serve as an integrated, embodied, Modern Medicine Woman, who cares deeply about something greater than herself.

Life as a medical doctor/oncologist, scientist, and clinical researcher is fast-paced and can be high-pressured. That was my reality for years.

My reality also included growing up in a family where I received many gifts of perfection: intelligence, resourcefulness, astute ability to sense my surroundings and people, style, manners, work ethic, and humility.

I also received many gifts of imperfection: walking on eggshells, being the good girl or exemplary child, people-pleasing with no boundaries, codependency, surviving amongst functional addictions, having no needs of my own, and parenting parents, to name a few.

I derived my identity from it, and to all appearances, I thrived in it. I very successfully repeated these patterns in my adult life, which ultimately brought me to a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis.

I am forever grateful for all the experiences I lived through, which were a calling to embark on my personal journey of shedding layers of beliefs and behaviors. These beliefs and behaviors never belonged to me, yet they ran my life and seemingly protected me.

Finally, I remembered my Self, the true essence of me and others, which is LOVE.

I have shown up for and moved through the deep work of self-remembering. I continue to do so daily and remain committed to the work that has transformed all areas of my life in so many ways.

This work is powerful and transformative, and now I am called to share it with others and hold space for you on your journey.

Blending Medicine & Spirit

I took the plunge and had the privilege of training in the Whole Health Medicine Institute. Now I can implement trauma-informed healing in the context of medical practices and with others outside of the clinical setting.

Western medicine and spiritual trauma-informed healing can and do go hand-in-hand. They are not separate.

This respectful and gentle approach allows me to use many modalities, walking alongside others as they access their body’s innate healing powers. It is a collaborative process that allows my clients to re-member all the parts of themselves into wholeness. That is, they come back to the fullness of their true being.
